Gonzen Iron Mine in Sargans
Iron ore was mined in the Gonzen Iron Mine in Sargans as far back as two millennia ago. Gonzen is the name of the mighty cliff that towers at an altitude of 1830 m.a.s.l over the town of Sargans. A mine visit is an interesting option if your seminar is taking place in the vicinity. The underground labyrinth of shafts and galleries stretches almost 90 kilometres. A small section of this disused mine is still accessible and open to the public. Different guided tours are available and you won’t go hungry or thirsty either. Why not visit the adjacent museum and enjoy a tasty aperitif together with your seminar attendees? The mine caverns can also be hired as an exclusive seminar venue. Please get in touch – we would be delighted to assist you in the planning and organization process.
